Derrek has always been passionate about building and construction, a passion that took shape in 2008 when he began studying Computer-Aided Design (CAD). In 2012, he entered the fire sprinkler industry as a designer and quickly developed a deep enthusiasm for fire sprinkler design, determined to excel in the field.

Within just four years, Derrek's dedication and expertise earned him the role of Design Manager. In this role, he established a robust design department capable of handling multimillion-dollar workloads, designing fire sprinkler systems across Southern California. As the company expanded into other states, Derrek rose to the position of Corporate Design Manager, where he supported design operations for four branches and supervised multiple designers.

With a NICET Level IV certification in Water-Based Systems, Derrek is committed to setting industry standards and fostering the next generation of fire sprinkler designers. Though he later transitioned to Construction Manager, excelling in project management, Derrek realized his true passion remained in design. This realization led to the founding of Lucid Fire Design and Consulting, where he combines his technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver premier fire sprinkler design solutions.
